The pad of the car, as one of the component that installed in the car that production levelsrelated to the development of the automotive industry in the country ultimately. Many pads ofthe car are discoid parts, so the technology on discoid parts processing that affected theperformance of the car directly. However, at present, comparing with large foreign partsproduction company, our domestic parts manufacturers can not compete with them. This paperresearched that how to grind quickly for discoid parts’ side, the manual grinder unable to meetneeds on processing, with the development of science, numerical control technology hasbecome the representative of advanced productive force, which plays a very important role inmechanical manufacture. Through the experience of many years: Only through thecombination with the computer, the grinding machine has more efficiency and more reliabilityon processing of machining some workpieces.With the rapid development of the market, the limitations of traditional NC system wasappeared that can not share resource with different NC machine tool, and the applicationmodule can not be extended, which likes a black box, we did not know the inside contents, notto mention how to take advantage of it. The business motion control card that can be extendedand use computer resource fully was appeared under this circumstances. The emergence of themotion control card, open CNC system has also become an important research issue for thepeople. So the task of developing on open CNC system and special grinding based on “PC+motion control card” are very urgent.Special grinder has the advantages of low cost and high efficiency, and which has beenwidely applied to the mass production, and would make up the automatic production line.Special grinder generally used for processing discoid parts or special shape of the workpieces.The workpiece can be rotated in machining, and then through the rotary motion of the wheeland the relative feed movement of workpieces that to achieve grinding plane, cylindrical and soon.This paper researched how to get the strategy of the grinding process parameters fordiscoid parts. The embedded open CNC system based on the scheme of "PC+motion controlcard”, which quotes the thought of object-oriented and modularized has been designed by Visual C++6.0, the foundation of the system is the interpolator function concept of controlprinciple for CNC system.We established communication for computer and the motion control card, and motioncontrol card with servo unit.Development of discoid parts processing requirements, the discoid parts was designed bythe UG software based on the actual dimension of them, then we can extract NC machiningcode and synthetically simulated from discoid parts by UG CAM module.
