Stab-resistant shoes are used to protect the legs and feet from the stabbing of sharp objects and important in the building, forestry, railway, mining, fire-fighting and special military field. The most common stab-resistant shoes used nowadays are made of soles with metal materials to reinforce stab-resistant performance, however, whose bulky and hard properties causes poor comfort and easy fatigue. In order to obtain the lightweight, soft, comfortable and flexible stab-resistant shoes, the paper adopts high-performance fiber instead of metal materials to make stab-resistant shoes.The lightweight and high-strength ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene(UHMWPE) fiber is chosen in this paper and woven into the woven fabric with different structures, and a self-transform fabric force machine is used to make a quasi-static test. The mechanism of stab-resistance is also discussed. This paper mainly carried out the following researches:(1)The influences of stab-resistant performance of single fabric are discussed, including fabric density, weave, angle of incidence and coating solution, and the mechanism are concluded.(2)The stab-resistant performance of compound fabric is implemented in multilayer composite and is influenced by the difference of weave combination, angle combination, density combination, the display of cross layer, layer number and the position of stab-resistant fabric, which provides a theoretical support for design of stab-resistant shoes structure.(3) According to the principle of the design, the formability and comfort of shoe upper and soles are taken into consideration by testing basic performance and provide feasibility plan about making shoes. The following results are obtained from the above researches:(1) With the increase of fabric density and tightness, the pull-out force of warp increases. The stabbing strength of fabric is closely related to the fabric density, and the slope of stab curve decreases with the decrease of density. Therefore, in order to improve the stab-resistant performance, the fabric density should be improved firstly. With the same parameters, the stab-resistant performance of tighter weave is better.(2)The difference of fabric density and weave leads to different tendency in the cutting process at different angles. The anterior position of fabric with different weave is compared:twill fabric>satin fabric>plain fabric. When the single fabric is compounded at different angles, fabric strength coefficient is the maximum in parallel arrangement, and the slope of stab curve is the maximum in cross arrangement of0°and45°, by which the stab-resistant effect can be effectively improved in small displacement.(3)The different position of different density leads to little difference of cutting strength. The stab-resistant performance in order-configuration is better than in cross-configuration, and the stab curve goes up in approximate straight line and has little fluctuation. With the increase of fabric layer, the stab strength has an approximate linear increase and the stab depth increases. The fluctuation is less so that the curve tends to go up in straight line, and fabric strength coefficient decreases firstly and then increases. The position of stab-resistant fabric has influence on stab-resistant performance:The way that stab-resistant layer is at the bottom of the compound is the best, and the way that stab-resistant layer is in the top of the compound is the worst.(4) Based on the factors including shear properties, bending performance, the force, wrinkle properties, weave and so on, the comprehensive effect is researched. The superposition of fabric in parallel arrangement is used to make shoe upper and contribute to better three-dimensional formability. The superposition of multi-layer fabric is used to make soles. The same place of the upper and sole is marked in symbol, then connected with mucilage, and successfully make the stab-resistant shoes with comfort and stab-resistant function.
