With the mine drainage pump to the technology development of energy-saving and high efficiency, a small number of domestic manufacturers put it to a reasonable improvement between the design and manufacturing process so that the various hydraulic loss and leakage can be better to reduce and also the mine drainage system can be long-term energy-saving, efficient and reliable operation. In this paper, a type of energy-saving and high efficiency mine drainage pump is chosen to make the research that steady simulation, transient simulation and optimization simulation, which can provide theoretical basis for the performance improvement of energy-saving and high efficiency mine drainage pump and play a certain instructive significance to optimize model for engineering practice.Combining with the centrifugal pump flow principle and numerical theory and using the solution method of related software, the paper puts forward the research as the following:(1) Regarding a type of energy-saving and high efficiency mine drainage pump as the research object and meanwhile combining numerical theory with flow principle, the optimal numerical solution is taken to solve three stage flow channel with the whole pump.(2) According to the main performance parameters of the over-current components, energy-saving and high efficiency mine drainage pump is hydraulic designed for inlet section, first stage impeller, first stage guide vane, secondary impeller, last stage guide vane, outlet section. Then three stage flow channel with the whole model is established with Solidwoks software and Workbench software provides Fluid flow-meshing platform to mesh entire discrete domain model.(3) The steady simulation is made for the full model with CFX software and subsequently the characteristic parameters of simulated flow field are obtained at different conditions, it includes the velocity distribution and pressure distribution of the impeller, guide vane, the whole level and the whole flow channel. Then the whole model is used for transient simulation at the design conditions and subsequently the velocity and pressure variations in period of stable and transient effect are obtained.(4) The characteristic prediction curve obtained with the simulation for energy-saving and high efficiency mine drainage pump is better to reflects the trend of external characteristic curve obtained by experiment, which verifies the reliability of the predicted flow field. Moreover, the causes of errors for the prediction curve are analyzed. (5) According to two recirculation zones of impeller at off-design conditions, the measure is provided to cut and file at the back of first stage impeller inlet and slot close the hub cover at the impeller outlet, thus the reflux is reduced.
