Ethyleneamines includes ethylene diamine and polyethylene polyamine with the department of series of products. In the field of organic chemistry and fine chemical, ethyleneamines is extremely important and useful raw materials and intermediates. Ethyleneamines market has great potential, but the production capacity of our country is in a very low level, this contradiction needs to be resolved. A domestic research institute has independently developed the chemical process, then a chemical engineering company in Shanghai conducts an overall process design, which will become the ten thousand tons ethyleneamines device, breaking the China’s ethyleneamines market monopoly of Western countries’multinational chemical companies.This paper is based on the project, which is named "a chemical plant10,000tons/year ethyleneamines project". The project is the first independently developed ten thousand tons domestic ethyleneamines project in China, this article will give instructions and presentations for the advanced production technology.Design goals include craft production process monitoring systems, control systems and signal alarm interlock system of production facilities equipped with instrumentation signals, complete of professional instrument design, including design drawings and the corresponding forms. The design should be scientific and reasonable, in line with national and industry standards and norms. The design also complies with the economic, environmental and legal requirements, and to ensure the innovative and advancement in the industry. Design elements include instrument index sheet, instrument data sheets (including selection), flat laying diagram, cable tray laying diagram, gas supply allocation map, DCS interlock logic diagrams, DCS supply system diagram, DCS instrument loop diagram, instrument installation drawings, instrument I/O lists, instrument cable sheet, material lists and so on.This paper will simulate in use of the software Aspen Plusl1.1and Aspen Dynamics11.1for the steady state and dynamic simulation of the amination reactor in the ethyleneamines production unit. The process feasibility of the the amination reactor will be tested and verified by steady-state simulation. Through the dynamic simulation, the design of control way is feasible to make sure the steady-state and dynamic design can meet the requirements of the actual working conditions.The design of the project has been completed, the plant has started operation. The design of automatic control and instruments meets the technical requirements of the scene. Given that the project is China’s first self-designed and produced tons ethyleneamines project, this paper has a good reference for similar projects.
