This paper focuses on the depth analysis and research for the falling film uniformity issues, which is from the topic of purified glycol section of the Liaoyang petrochemical ethylene project. We find the best film-distributor which can gets the optimal liquid film through a series of experiments, and apply it to the reboiler of the apparatus.We do theoretical research on the falling film flow principles and minimum allowable flow rate drop, and propose the prerequisites how to get uniform film in the falling film flow process. It lays the foundation of the design and selection of the film-distributor. We have developed a new triangular openings film-distributor. By analyzing and comparing with the four types of film-distributors, we get calculation methods of the average thickness of the liquid film and the liquid level of the liquid dish and the film-distributor. We apply the film-distributor to the Liaoyang petrochemical’s five reboilers when we design them, and take them into action. This paper’s research provides us a reliable reference for designing this kinds of reboilers.
