The hydrocracking technology with the features of raw materials adaptability, flexible product solutions, good liquid product yield and quality, has become one of the most important heavy oil depth processing technology in modern oil refining and petrochemical industry. Petrochemical hydrocracking unit project was completed in August last year, the device use a series hydrocracking technology, and hydrotreating and hydrocracking catalyst were developed by UOP. This project has used the SIEMENS PCS7system including distributed control system, The whole system is composed of the SIEMENS hardware such as automatic table, controller, communication processor, ES, and OS. Siemens SIMATIC PCS7system is a typical distributed control system (DCS).By understanding the requirement of process, with the powerful PCS7suite, the various difficult control requirements can be smartly realized.Based on a hydrocracking DCS project which I have took part in when I have my practice in SIAS, this paper simply introduces the process of hydro-cracking and PCS7system architecture, introduces the hardware selection, network architecture, hardware design, hardware configuration, network configuration, programming design and the PC monitor screen design by WinCC. We have designed and present a hydrocracking process control system based on SIMATIC PCS7. According to the demands for modern industrial process control system, the paper analyses the split-ranging-override control strategies and the stepless speed control scheme of hydrogen compressor; The paper actualized the simulation analysis of the hydrocracking heating furnace outlet temperature cascade control by Simulink, and designed the IMC strategy according to the advanced control method, discussed the key of advanced control method’s implementation in the actual project. The system is very stable after running, and the company achieves good economic benefits.
