Amino silicon oil is one of the fastest-developing organic silicon compounds. It has been widely applied in many fields for its excellent physical and chemical properties, such as:weather resistance, radiation resistance, oxidation resistance, high permeability, temperature resistance, water repellency, and physiologically inert.Fly ash is one kind of waste that thermal power plants discharge. In recent years, with the increasing emissions, Fly ash has caused a serious damage to our ecological environment. Therefore, how to make full use of fly ash and to turn waste into wealth has become not only an important technical and economic policy in economic construction but also environmentally friendly research topic.This article exploits the hydrophobicity of amino silicone oil to modify fly ash. Fly ash-modified, with highly efficient water repellency, can be applied in building materials as a repellent gouache.This article consists of two parts, namely the synthesis of amino silicone oil and the surface modification of fly ash. The synthesis of amino-silicone oil comprises selections of the polymerization method, the coupling-agent, the catalyst and the determination of the polymerization time and temperature. Through extensive literature research, under the conditions of the polymerization temperature80℃C&the catalysis of tetramethyl ammonium hydroxide (TMAH), the polymerization monomer Octamethyl siloxane polymerize, respectively with three different coupling agents which contains three different amino groups, under different ratios&different polymerization times&different amount of catalyst.The polymer amino silicone oil, obtained under different conditions, modified fly ash in accordance with a different weight. Take a certain amount of the modified fly ash and tile on the water. After standing for some time, determine the sedimentation rate of the fly ash-modified. The smaller sedimentation rate is, the better the hydrophobicity of modified fly ash is. Measure the waterproofness of fly ash-modified with static pressure method in the construction industry. The article measures the viscosity of the amino silicone and analysizes the influencing factors on the synthetic amino silicone viscosity, including the ratio of the reactive monomers (according to the molar ratio of Si atoms in octamethyl cyclotetrasiloxane and the coupling agent), the useage amount of TMAH(according to the mass percentage of octamethyl cyclotetrasiloxane), and the type of coupling agent (including HD-106, HD-110, HD-121). The results showed that:the ratio of cyclotetrasiloxane and coupling agent HD-106is10:1, the useage amount of TMAH is13/10000, the viscosity of the amino-silicone oil obtained by the polymerization is the smallest than others.The amino silicone, polymerized under Orthogonal test conditions, was used to modify fly ash. The influencing factors on the sedimentation rate of modified fly ash in water,namely the hydrophobicity, are analysed from the process conditions of the modifiction and the polymerization of amino silicone.The optimal polymerization conditions of the amino silicone, which equips fly ash with the strongest hydrophobicity are:when the coupling agent is HD-106, the ratio, the useage amount of TMAH and the time are:10:1、13/10000,2h; When coupling agent is the HD-110, the ratio, the useage amount of TMAH and the time are:50:1,13/10000,3h;when coupling agent for the HD-121, the ratio、the useage amount of TMAH and the time are:30:1.25/10000,1h.The article conduct the comparison of the hydrophobicity of the fly ash, which was modified by the amino silicone polymerized by octamethyl cyclotetrasiloxane and the coupling agent under the optimal conditions, respectly. The result is:when the coupling agent is HD-106, the ratio, the useage amount of TMAH and the time are:10:1,13/10000,2h, the hydrophobicity of the modified fly ash(according to the mass ratio1:100of the silicone oil:Fly Ash) is the best.
