The grafted-copolymers of chitosan(CTS)with methyl ethacrylate (MMA), weresynthesized by suspension polymerization and microwave radiation. The effects of reactionvariables including the amounts of monomer and initiator, reaction time, reaction temperature,irradiation time and swelling time on the grafting percentage (G%) and grafting efficiency(E%) have been investigated. Grafted copolymers were characterized by FTIR, XRD andSEM. The results showed that MMA has been grafted to chitosan. The results indicate that theChitosan graft copolymerization has the best G%and E%in the initiator concentration of(NH4)2S2O8-NaHSO31.0%, WChitosan/WMMA=1:4, reaction temperature70℃and reactiontime4h. The optimal conditions of The graft polymerization by microwave radiation is that,the initiator concentration of (NH4)2S2O8-NaHSO31.2%, WChitosan/WMMA=1:3, irradiationtime12min and swelling time24h.The in-situ polymerization had been applied to syntheses of chitosan-Cu(II) andchitosan-Zn(II) complexes. The effects of reaction time, reaction temperature, initialconcentration of metal ions, as well as pH value, on adsorption of metal ions of graftedproducts have been discussed. The thermal stability was characterized by the thermalgravimetry analysis.The LDPE antibacterial plastic is prepared by filling way and the dispersive character isobserved by SEM. Antibacterial capability of the LDPE antibacterial plastic to Escherichiacoli, Bacillus subtilis and Sarcinas is tested by the way of covering with film. Simultaneity themechanical property, machining property and antibacterial long property are also studied inthis paper.The results of the antibacterial capability show that the LDPE antibacterial plastic withfilling different proportional chitosan-Cu(II) complexes has the obvious antibacterial effect.The antibacterial capability boosts up with the dosage of antimicrobial agent increasing,marks obvious antibacterial capability could be achieved by adding2phr, The bactericideefficiency of Escherichia coli, Bacillus subtilis and Sarcinas are91.8%、93.2%、91.7%. Themechanical property and the machining property of the antibacterial plastic is almost not affected by adding of the antimicrobial, meanwhile the antibacterial plastic has wellantibacterial long property.
