Photonic crystal is a kind of Photonic Band-Gap(PBG)materials. Compared with thetraditional coloration method gained by pigments and dyes, Photonic crystal can achievestructural colors with higher brightness and saturation and those are usually never fade rainbowcolors. Because of that, photonic crystal has been followed closely by increasing more people. Some scholars have attempted to gain photonic crystal textiles in recent years, and they usuallygained the textiles via the methods that the textiles are put into Photonic crystal emulsion. Theformer ways are wasteful and they can’t accomplish partial coloring of textiles. To overcomethose shortage, the idea that achieving partial, accurate structural color on textile surface viatextile ink-jet printing technology is prospective. In this paper, we combined the P (St-MAA) colloidal microspheres self-assemblytechnology and textile inkjet printing technology aimed to achieve partial, controllable textilestructural color. The study could be summarized as follows:1. prepared the colloidalmicrospheres structural color ink by adding P (St-MAA) colloidal microspheres emulsion, dispersant, pH adjusting agents, viscosity modifiers. And then, studied the effects of the formerfactors on self-assembly and Structural color of colloidal microspheres ink;2. PreliminaryStudied the effects on self-assembly and Structural color of colloidal microspheres ink thatcaused by fabric type, surface wettability, tissue density, smoothness, and Established the basicproperties of textile substrates for the analog ink-jet printing process;3. Studied the nozzle size, nozzle pressure and the drying process(drying environment include drying temperature, air flow) of colloidal microspheres ink and determined the appropriate conditions for the analog ink-jetprinting process. The conclusions of this paper are as follows:1. To obtain good application performancecolloidal microspheres ink, we should be strictly controlled the following conditions: PDI of P(St-MAA) colloidal microspheres latex≤0.10, the concentration of P (St-MAA) colloidalmicrospheres is0.8-1.6%(solid content), pH=7-8, viscosity0.2-0.6mPa s, and add appropriateamount of anionic surfactant;2. Hydrophobic, good smoothness fabrics surface is good forachieving photonic crystal structure on textile surface via analog inkjet printing technology. The effects of fabric tissue density is relatively small. The specifications290T-320T of polyesterfabric is appropriate to used;3. In the process of analog inkjet printing technology, to obtain thedesired droplet size, we should select the appropriate nozzle size, nozzle pressure. the dryingtemperature70-90℃is suitable for the process of colloidal microspheres ink drying. Airconvection has a greater impact on the self-assembly of colloidal microspheres that formedphotonic crystal structural color. Enhanced air convection is conducive to colloidal microspheresself-assembly and structural colors.
