The traditional colloidal self-assembly is time-consuming,inefficient,having large consumption in solution and impossible in locate-on-demand.The related structural colors are not only dependent on the photonic band gap,incident angle and the regularity of the photonic crystal structures,but also rely a lot on the base colors of the textile sustrates.In this,the composite ink of dyes and colloidal microspheres is prepared and the related self-assembly method is developed based on ink-jet printing technology with textiles as substrates in our study,which accomplish the pigmentary base colors and structural colors of photonic crystals on textile surfaces in one-step process and provide new ideas on the applications of structural coloration on textiles.The major work of our study could be summarized as the following three aspects: 1.Study the influences of textile substrate pretreatments on the anti-bleeding,structural color and base color of the composite ink,and analyze the required fundamental characteristics of the fabric surface;2.Study the effects of the reactive dye ink concentrations,colloidal microsphere emulsion concentrations,surface tension,viscosity and pH value of the composite ink on the self-assembled structures,base colors and structural colors;3.Study the self-assembly process of the composite ink and the influences of assembly temperatures on structural coloration,and investigate the optical properties of the photonic crystals on textiles.The main results are as follows;1.The wettability of fabrics has great influences on the structural colorations.The wetting contact angle of the silk and cotton should be controlled in the range of 110-125°with certain amounts of water repellent finishing agents EPF and sodium bicarbonate to avoid the bleeding of the composite ink on fabrics;2.The composite ink suitable for digital printing on silk and cotton should meet the following requirements: colloidal microspheres of 10.0 vol% and 15.0 vol%,respectively,reactive dye ink of 5.0 vol%,surface tension of 53-65 mN/m,viscosity of 3.70 mPa·s and pH value in the scope of 5.0-9.0;3.In the composite ink system,reactive dyes and colloidal microspheres are synchronous to dye and self-assemble on textiles.In the simulation process of digital ink-jet printing,the self-assembly temperature of 60 ? might be favorable to obtain well-regulated photonic crystal structure;After ink-jet printing self-assembly,textiles could display different structural colors at varioussizes of colloidal microspheres,and the related photonic crystals show apparent iridescence at different incident angles.
