The present application situation and prospect of the lead-acid batteries wereintroduced. It was pointed out that the pollution of lead-acid battery was not in the usestage but mainly concentrated in the two links of manufacture stage-lead powder andgrid production. Based on the analysis of development status, technology level andexisting problems of the current domestic and international grid manufacturing processand equipment, aimed at the problems of too much punching waste, low material utilizationand high energy consumption in the existing production process of continuous castingļ¼Œrolling and punching grid, the pre-rolling process method of lead strip grid has beenpresented, which leads to the needed punching thickness becoming thinner in the dierolling phrase, reducing the punching waste. Consequently, the lead liquid utilization inthe molten state can be improved, energy consumption can be reduced and the lead beltutilization can be improved.According to the production process of the new grid, the overall plan of productionline has been determined. The lead belt continuous casting equipment and continuousrolling equipment have been designed. A new method for drum crystallizer has been putforward, which greatly simplified the equipment structure, reduced the manufacturingcost and the use cost of the equipment.The structure design, analysis and calculation and standard parts selection of thecontinuous rolling and casting equipment have been introduced. The static finiteelement analysis of the main stress components for the roller and the frame has beendone by using of ANSYS, and the structure optimization design has been carried on.Through theoretical calculation and analysis, the validity and reliability have beenensured, and the product development efficiency has been improved.At present, the corresponding product line is in the process of trial-manufacture.Predictably, the lead belt material utilization rate will be improved significantly by thegrid continuous casting and rolling product line with the new process technologies. Theenergy consumption of the whole product line will be reduced, and the considerableeconomic and social benefits will be got.
