Nowadays, many domestic waste landfills would be closed, due to the height of the waste piles was overproof. On the other hand, for the dump site with imperfect facilities would also be closed considering the environment pollution around the place which is caused by the landfill leachate and landfill odor gas. After the waste landfill closed, it was popular phenomenon that the strength of emission odor gas became weak, which means the old sanitary protection zone needs to change. It was the most primal problem that how to make sure the extent of sanitary protection zone of the closure waste landfill, depended on the strength of closure landfill odor gas. which would influence the relationship of the environmental protection and the landfill useful value. Therefore, the sanitary protection of closure landfill was elected the research objective of this paper, operated by the way that correctly evaluating the closure of the landfill site to fix the odor gas emission strength. finally, with the diverse purpose of environmental protection, found the feature of the sanitary protection in closure period.The closure landfill site of bingcaogang in Panzhihua was a researched sample that the paper choired. To monitor and analyze the garbage sample,6factors included the component, water ratio. VS, BDM, COD and NH3of the leachate, the maximum ratio of landfill gas had been adopted, an evaluation system of the solid waste landfill site closure was set up in accordance with the relevant literature, about the criteria for MSW landfill stabilization process. Based on that result, operated gas production rate of the closure period by Scholl Canyon dynamic model to research the change rule of landfill gas, at last, there have been definite odor gas emission strength from the relational expression between time and the strength.It was suggested that three standards were adopted about the normal value of H2S gas and NH3gas, such as<Emission standards for odor pollutants>.<Hygienic standards for the design of industrial enterprises> and odor gas olfactory coefficient. There were distinct operated results with different standards, the result would be the maximum ozone, which the sanitary protection ozone was calculated with the adopted odor gas olfactory coefficient, that was to say, people would be influenced scarcely out of the extent. With the same standard. there had been differences between the sanitary protection ozone in the different seasons. It had been be smelled more easy when odor gas in the high temperatures and wind weather, so, the operated result of the sanitary protection ozone in summer was bigger than winter.To sum up the above findings, the factors comprehended the component, water ratio, VS and BDM, would effect the production rate of the landfill odor gas, then the same sort of thing happened to the calculation of the sanitary protection zone in the closure period of waste landfill site. Therefore, it was very important to insure a reasonable calculation in the practical situation of the MSW landfill site, made accurate prediction about the emission strength of the odor gas in the closure period. Meanwhile, it was necessary that calculated the sanitary protection ozone using different standard value, depended on the purpose of the land use, which not only for the landfill-self but also for the surrounding area, and defined the individualized sanitary protection ozone for difference project.
