4J43alloy is the main core material of Dumet wire in China, which is widely used in light bulbs, energy saving lamps, everyday lights, car lights, tubes, diodes, and other imported lines in electrical appliances sealing with soft glass, the quality of the4J43alloy seriously influence the leakage rate of Dumet wire. Improving the quality of the welding joint have important implications in the industry. Q235steel is widely used in all kinds of civil construction projects, Flash butt welding does not need welding materials,without groove, simple operation flash butt weldin has the advantages of time-saving, material saving, energy saving and is suitable for the construction site.In this paper, flash butt welding was used for welding experiment on Q235steel and4J43alloy respectively, cutting the sample into bars of the same length before welding, Removing oxide skin on the end face of the bar and the surface of the bar which is contact with the electrode. By adjusting the upset length, upsetting force, extension length, the speed of the flash welding amount and other welding parameters during the welding process.Testing the mechanical properties of the bars after removing burrs on the outside surface of welding joint,and then confirm the best welding parameters.Analysis of the variation and causes of the microstructure in the weld and heat affected zone, grain showing a gradient distribution from big to small with the distance from the weld increase. Microstructure is mainly composed of the fusion zone, overheated zone, transition zone, fine grain area, incomplete recrystallization area. Plastic deformation during the flash butt welding is thermoplastic deformation, not monly the dynamic recovery and recrystallization process, but also the static recovery and recrystallization processes.Transition zone is a particular area which is formed in the case of static response and recrystallization. grain coarsening in the heat-affected zone and forming a trigeminal grain boundary whose angle is120°;the boundary of Transition zone is crooked,and the heterogeneity of grain size is the typical microstructure of the area; the fine grain zone whose grain size is finer than the base material is the best area in the heat affected zone,but the fine grain area in the4J43alloy welding joint is not obvious; incomplete recrystallization area have different grain sizes,ganization and mechanical properties; weld seam micro structure about4J43alloy are lath, while weld seam micro structure about Q235steel are acicular structure, which is mainly determined by the nature of the material itself.Analysis the impact of the main technical parameters on the quality of welding joint and fracture appearance on the welding joint. Select suitable welding process parameters during the welding, Q235steel can get a welded joint whose property is better than the base metal, the tensile strength of4J43alloy is51.5MPa,which can be82.1%of the base metal.
