Bamboo charcoal, as a natural material, is chased after because of its outstandingproperty. By different proceeding methods, bamboo charcoal is added to the nonwoven tomake the materials that fit lining of clothing. Based on the porosity of bamboo charcoal, adevice is designed to research the porosity of the porous materials. At the same time, sometesting methods are designed for it. The research technique, results and conclusions are asfollows:1. Bamboo charcoal and bamboo activated charcoal with different dimensions are added tothe nonwovens with different technology that includes padding, coating, air brushing andpacket. The nonwovens include drylaid nonwoven, wetlaid nonwoven and meltblownnonwoven. What’ more, the appearance and interior structure are analyzed by the electronmicroscope.2. Air permeability and moisture absorption performance of the bamboo charcoalnonwoven is analyzed. The influence of the different adding technology, ratios of the slurry,kinds and dimensions of bamboo charcoal is explored on air permeability and moistureabsorption performance. It’s testified that, after padding, the air permeability is veryinstable and influenced by the ratios of the slurry obviously. By airbrush, the slurry withbamboo charcoal is applied to the nonwoven equably and slightly, which nearly has noinfluence on the air permeability. The air permeability decreases seriously after beingcoated, and the hand feeling deteriorates obviously. Moreover, after the samples are left inthe condition of constant temperature and humidity for3hours, the weight of them stopsincreasing. Meanwhile, the moisture absorption performance of part of the samplesimproves obviously.3. By the weighing methods, the bamboo charcoal and bamboo activated charcoal isweighed in the environment of formaldehyde, benzene and TVOC separately. Theadsorbing capacity of the bamboo charcoal with different dimensions and quality isinquired in conditions of different poisonous gas and at different times. Meanwhile, theadsorptive property of the padded bamboo charcoal nonwovens with different ratios of the slurry is compared with that of bamboo charcoal and nonwovens. It’s testified that, thebamboo charcoal absorbs different poisonous gas obviously, and its adsorptive capacitychanges with the kinds, dimensions of the bamboo charcoal and the kinds of the poisonousgas. The adsorptive capacity of the padded bamboo charcoal nonwoven also changes withthe kinds of poisonous gas and the ratios of the slurry.4. The methods of concentration testing are designed by using the gas detector IQ-1000and devising and manufacturing an enclosed test container. In addition, two different kindsof testing methods are designed which include the continuous system and the incontinuoussystem. Both of them have their advantages and disadvantages. The ammonia gas isadopted to test the adsorptive property of bamboo charcoal. It’s testified that, in thecontinuous system, the ammonia gas is absorbed distinctly, and the bamboo activatedcharcoal has better absorption efficiency. Moreover, the ammonia concentration could beacquired precisely by data analysis. On the other hand, in the incontinuous system, thedevice and methods are testified of repeatability. In this system, adsorptive property of thebamboo charcoal is also affirmed. After the third retesting, the ammonia concentrationcomes into a balance. After all, the adsorption value can be obtained by the front and backammonia concentration in both systems.5. It’s testified that all of the samples have the absorptive property of ammonia gas in thecontinuous system based on the gas detector. Under the influence of the samples’construction and the different process modes, the order is coating> padding> air brushing.It’s also testified to be the chemisorption of the ammonia gas by the treatment of sizingagent with bamboo charcoal. In the incontinuous system, the samples’ absorption isfinished in20minutes after they’re put into the container. And the more is the sizing agentwith bamboo charcoal, the shorter could the absorption be finished. At the same time, bythe analysis of the curves, the absorptive order is consistent in the both systems.
