With the development of industrialization and urbanization in our country, theshortage of land resource is increasing with each passing day. Many infrastructuressuch as civil buildings, industrial buildings, highways and railways have to be built inor across the mining land. As the mining activities can lead to the formation of minedout area as well as the mined out area can influence the stability of ground remarkably,in order to ensure the safety of buildings above the mined out area and prevent thedamage of buildings caused by the collapse of mined out area, the research of theground displacement and deformation cased by mining has great social and economicsignificance of mining land recovery and construction in our country. The study on ground displacement and deformation in this paper is combinedwith the report on evaluation of geological hazard assessment and foundation stabilityof Jilin Cheng da Hong sheng energy limited company. The main result are as follows:a. The research of rock and ground displacement and deformation above the minedout area is carried out in this paper, as well as the scope of the mined out area, mechanism and failure mode of three zones and the movement regularity andcharacteristics of surface subsidence basin when the seam is horizontal or inclined. b.numerical experiment based on the finite difference software FLAC3Dis carried out todiscuss the influences caused by mining factors and analysis the mechanism of grounddeformation. c. a numerical model is set up by using FLAC3Dafter studying thegeological data in study area. According to the calculation result, the research ofinfluence to deformation of ground caused by mining in Huadian mining area iscarried on. The ground settlement and regularity of horizontal displacement and thedistribution of internal stress can be acquired. d. the research of secondary settlementand residual deformation caused by engineering activities is carried out. The calculation result of numerical method is contrasted to the traditional probabilityintegral method and the results of the two methods have little difference. Thenumerical method can be used in the prediction of mining subsidence.
