Abundant coal resources play a very important role in the economic development of our country, but in the process of coal resources mining has also caused a great damage of surface movements, and then produced serious damage to surface buildings. In this paper, we mainly study and analysis the law of surface movements and deformation of mining area, and subject to the building after the movements and deformation of surface, focusing on the influence of mining area surface curvature deformation on the buildings, and the establish the impact model of buildings by mining curvature deformation, as well as damage to the building wall cracks prediction model. In this paper, three physical quantities of vertical movement, horizontal movement and horizontal deformation are selected to reveal the effect of the curvature of the building, and using the probability integral method to calculate the three physical quantities. According to the relationship between the maximum tensile stress and the horizontal deformation of the wall, the relationship between the size of the crack and mining curvature is determined. On this basis, using the Multiphysics Comsol finite element analysis software to simulate the deformation and failure of the surface curvature of the single side wall, and get the law of the crack in the wall. In the end, selecting buildings above the working face of a mine at Jinnan as an example to verify the reasonableness and practicability of the study. In this paper, the following results are obtained :(1)The prediction equation of vertical movement, horizontal movement and deformation of the buildings’ single side wall are affected by mining curvature deformation.(2)The prediction method of crack size and the judgment of the shape and position of the crack after the destruction of one side wall.(3)The distribution law of stress and strain of the wall under different levels of surface positive and negative curvature. The above results provide guidance for the protection of surface buildings in coal mining.
