Organic light-emitting diode(OLED) has become an active field of research because of its potential application in the technology of flat full-colour displays, extensive attention has been paid for organic light-emitting diode (OLED). Currently, through the joint efforts of national researchers, OLED has been made in the development of lighting and display areas.Recent reports have suggested that bis(8-hydroxyquinoline) zinc(II)(Znq2) complexes may be potential candidates to enhance the electron-transporting properties for OLEDs. Based on this point, the modification of molecular structure in the quinoline ring, fluorescence properties of different metal complexes, different substituents can not only change the composition of the metal complex emission peak, you can also adjust the intensity of the fluorescence. On the other hand, in order to retain the excellent photoelectron properties of8-hydroxyquinoline itself and achieve yellow-light emission, a feasible approach is to modify the2-,5-or7-position of the8-hydroxyquinoline rings with different functional groups, this article synthesized twenty-one new8-hydroxyquinoline derivatives and identified by NMR, FFIR, MS spectra and elemental analyses. In order to further investigate the interaction mode of ligands with Zn2+ion, the coordination reaction of ligands with Zn2+ion was monitored through a UV-vis and NMR fluorescence spectroscopic titrationspectroscopic titration at room temperature. The chemical shift of the quinoline ring protons of hydroxyl group at9.71was disapperared with zinc ions through the observation of1H NMR spectrum titration, and the new complex peaks was generated;UV-vis and fluorescence titration results show that UV absorption peaks and fluorescence emission peaks have some red-shit, for example, the UV absorption peaks of (E)-2-(2,6-dichloro-phenylvinyl)-8-hydroxyquinoline at205,240,283and329nm red shifted to209,300and415nm with zinc ions added. And its fluorescence emission peak at508nm red shifted610nm, so it indicates that chelation by zinc ions can be adjusted8-hydroxyquinoline complexes emission wavelength. In addition, Parts of8-hydroxyquinoline derivatives was crystallographically characterized, a dimeric Zn complex was fabricated by self-assembly of Zn(II) ions with ligand. X-ray structural analysis shows that C4exhibits a binuclear core, which is bridged by two8-hydroxyquinoline rings. However, single-crystal X-ray diffraction studies revealed that theC5exhibits a trinuclear core, which is bridged by three8-hydroxyquinoline rings.
