| There are more than3300rivers of all kinds in Pearl River Delta, and many rivers has been polluted to varying degrees with the rapid development of industrialization and urbanization. So it is in need to study and solve the problem of river pollution. In this paper, a series of monitoring analysis and research were made for the pollution of Shennan River.The main contents are as follows:(1)The author monitored and analyzed the water quality of Shennan River, and the monitoring indicators included:COD,DO,NH3-N,TP,sulfur,Te,Mn,etc.The regularity of concentration changes of pollutants in different monitoring period, the changing trend of pollutants’concentration of the monitoring points follow the flow direction, and the comparison of water pollution concentration of flood and ebb tides were analyzed. The water quality was assessed by standard index, and the water pollution characteristics and the main pollution problemsof Shennan River were proposed.(2)The author studied the sulfides of Shennan River and the monitoring indicators included:sulfates and sulfides in water, sulfates and sulfides in the sediment, pH, Eh, etc. In addition, the distribution of sulfates and sulfides of Shennan River and the correlation between sulfides and Environmental factors were analyzed. The Environmental quality of sulfide was analyzed, and the pollution characteristics and impact of the sulfides were proposed.(3)The pollution sources of Shennan River were studied based on the analysis of monitoring results, site-investigation and statistics.(4)The corresponding remediation program of Shennan River was proposed aimed at the pollution and contamination source of Shennan River, and the control technology of sulfides in river was analyzed.The main conclusions of the study are as follows:(1)Most of the monitoring indicators such as COD, DO, ammonia nitrogen, total phosphorus and sulfur exceeded Class V water standards of the "Environmental quality standards for surface water", and the quality of Shennan River was inferior to Class V. The concentration of pollutants showed a rising trend along the direction of water flow from upstream to downstream, while the dissolved oxygen showed a declining trend. The total amount of pollutants received by Shennan river exceeded its self-purification capacity and the Shennan river was black-odor.(2)The concentrations of sulfates and sulfides of Shennan River were100.01-160.00mg/L and0.50-3.33mg/L, respectively. And the content of sulfides in water was far below the content of sulfates. The concentrations of sulfates and sulfides in sediments were1.8-3.3mg/g and0.86-1.82mg/g, respectively. The concentrations of sulfates and sulfides were lower in the upstream and higher in the midstream and downstream. A targeted treatment for Shennan River should be carried out based on its pollution.(3)The study of correlations between sulfides and environmental factors of Shennan River showed that:there was a significant negative correlation between sediment sulfides and oxidation-reduction potential; the sediment sulfides had some correlation with COD and the correlation coefficient "r" was0.5711.The content of sulfates in water of Shennan River had a good linear relationship with sediment sulfides and the correlation coefficient "r" was0.6746.It showed that controlling the content of sulfates in water played an important role in reducing the content of sediment sulfides. |
