People from countries all around the world pay a common attention to the inheritanceand innovation of folk dressing. Global economic integration not only plays a significantrole in inheritance and innovation of folk costume culture, but also brings new subject tolocal costume designing. Chinese traditional culture featured with profound details andwide creating space is an endless source of creativity. The time-honored Chinese traditionalculture should be combined with modern diversified fashion in local costume designing.Only when the relationship between inheritance and innovation is grasped, and thetraditional culture is accepted with dialectical attitude, can clothing works with Chinesenative characteristics be created.This work studied the way of traditional culture inheritance and innovation for currentcostume designing in China. Three brands, Exception, Tangy and Fishing Fashion, whichare featured with profound cultural connotation and good market reflection, are selectedamong well-developed local clothing brands. At first, the specific situation of inheritanceand development in current Chinese costume designing is analyzed according to theeffective inheritance and innovation in costume designing of these three local brands.Secondly, problems in inheritance and innovation of local costume designing areconcluded according to the current situation of local costume development. Finally, therational and effective feasible scheme is put forward by analyzing the problems.
