With the rapid development of the modern information technology industry, optical functional materials are playing more and more important roles. The research of the optical functional organic small molecules are attracting more and more attentions, because of their excellent thermal stability and optical activity. Due to the organic dyes with large two-photon absorption cross section have lesser damage to biological cells, high tissue penetration, as well as the advantage of low light bleaching, the developing of application in the two-photon fluorescence microscopy (2PFM) is attracting more and more attention. Building functional complexes is one of the methods to optimize the optical performance. Dirpyridine has good planarity that can reduce the molecular level and improve the fluorescence properties. In addition, dipyridine is a very important multidentafe chelating ligand, which has good chelating abilities to transition metal ions. So it can used to design and synthesize functional dipyridine derivatives, which meets the basic requirements for the realizing organic/inorganic hybrid. In exploring of2PFM application, large two-photon absorption cross section and high fluorescence quantum yield are the basic requires. Moreover, in view of water environment in the biosystem, the designed2PFM probe must have certain solubility in water, which can improve the biological compatibility. In this paper, by introducing hydrophilic substituent to dipyridine, hydrophilic2PFM probes were designed and synthesised, and successfully applied in biological imaging. In this work, the pyridine derivative with naphthyl were self-assembled with zinc (II) salts to obtain a series of complexes, the optical properties were studied. Details are as follows:1The recent developments in the research of improving the hydrophilia of organic dyes were reviewed, and the idea of designing this thesis was put forward based on related literatures.2Four novel dipyridine-based ligands (Dyes1-4) were synthesized. All the ligands were characterized by IR, MS spectra,1H NMR and Elemental analysis. Single-and two-photon optical properties of the ligands were investigated.2PFM was also carried out.3A series of new coordination complexes with special structures and properties have gained by self-assembling of Dye1with Zn(Ⅱ) salts. Single crystal of complexes were determined by single crystal X-ray diffraction analysis. The role of weak interactions in the supermolecules were discussed.
