The crown ethers as the first generation supramolecular host take advantage of their complexation with metal ions and ammonium ions to obtain the molecular assemblies such as pseudorotaxane and rotaxane,which show a wide application prospect in upramolecular aspect.Pseudorotaxane and rotaxane can be driven and threaded/dethreaded to an external stimuli of chemistry,photochemistry and eletrochemistey,which made into the molecular switches,molecular shuttles,molecular wires,molecular muscle and molecular lock ring etal.The contents wre followed as:1)Three macrocyclic ligands are designed and synthesized using L-DOPA?quinoxaline and phenanthroline as raw materials respectively.2)Metal complexes containing crown ether are prepared by coordination of phenanthroline with metal ions ruthenium.We inspect the interaction of these compounds with DNA using UV spectroscopy,fluorescence spectroscopy and electrophoresis techniques.3)Rotaxane is constructed by the complexation of the crown ether with 1,2-Bis(4,4-bipyridyl)ethane.4)Rotaxane and pseudorotaxane are constructed by the complexation of the crown ether with ammonium ion and bipyridine cation.These assemblies can be driven by acid/base,light and electrochemical means.Investigating their movement rules to ganerate molecular devices.
