A safety assessment to pipeline constructions of some chemical company is made in this paper. With making use of simulated accident consequence analysis based on SAFETI software, the assessment gives safety assessment conclusions and recommendations for developing appropriate safety measures to the company’s pipeline construction unit.SAFETI software makes simulation and analysis of accidents such as the extent of deaths according to substance heat flux and blast overpressure damages. Throughout the studying in the paper, the highest hazard of CO pipeline leak flash fire appears at the downwind distance of5.10m from leak point, and the leak jet thermal radiation reaches a maximum of3.24kW/m at the distance of11.0m from leak point. It is also worked out that the maximum death probability of0.036appears at the downwind distance50m from CO toxic gas leak point, while fatal area covers961m2The approximate simulation and analysis of accidents to H2pipeline leak shows the result that the highest hazard of H2pipeline leak flash fire appears at the downwind distance of17.09m, the leak jet thermal radiation reaches a maximum of2.28kW/m2at the distance of5.07m from leak point, an explosion of H? will happen if ignition occurs at10m downwind from the source, the death radius of H2pipeline leak is13.70m.The SAFETI software simulation can intuitively reflect the consequences of the accident and help policy makers and designers to carry out safety measures and safety precautions designs with technical support. At the same time, the software also can bring benefits to enterprises and government departments with establishing reasonable and efficient emergency response strategies and measures, reducing the harm caused by the accident impact, and improving the level of work safety.
