Designing and researching on the tufting machine is justin its infancy. In this paper, the dynamical characteristicsof the super-long shafting system on 4-meter wide tuftingmachine is studied in order to raise the rotating speed of thevery system and hence to elevate the working efficiency.(1)Traditional theoretical dynamical balancing method isused to analyze the unbalancing of the linkage mechanisms andpointed dynamical balancing method is promoted. And theparameters of the linkage mechanisms are decouple, as animproved way of dynamical balancing, since the tradition oneis limited by real working environment. After that,counterbalances are added on to the linkages if necessary, andthe structures of some linkages are re-designed.(2)ADAMS is utilized to analyze the unbalancing of thelinkage mechanisms of the super-long shafting system and anoptimal dynamical balancing method is promoted. Compared withthe former traditional method, it has many advantages such asmore amount of vibration is decreased and less time is used.As the same, counterbalances are added onto the linkages ifnecessary, and the structures of some linkages are re-designed.(3) Modal analysis and dynamical analysis are done on themain shaft and its system. Critical speeds, natural frequenciesand dynamical conditions of key nodes are analyzed, based onwhich the disadvantages of the structures are improved. Inaddition, a CAD software used to do dynamical analysis isdesigned. (4)Based on the series of studying on the super-longshafting system, the whole structure is improved and some partsare redesigned, in order to provide from most of disadvantagesof the former structure.The research on the super-long shafting system fills thecountry blank in the field of tufting machine. It can be botha reference for similar system improvement and a direction forre-designing of the shafting system alike.
