Shennong Zhentong Strapping,consisted of curare, camphor, borneo camphor, mentha-camphor and methyl salicylate etc,is one of traditional Chinese medicine for promoting blood flow,detumescence and alleviating pain. This paper is about the Shennong Zhentong Strapping preparation process, design and optimize its method;And the first assay of several target components(strychnine、camphor、methyl salicylate), also inspected its stability.The optimal ethanol extraction process of Shennong Zhentong Strapping was studied by orthogonal design with extractive yield as indices. Three factors were studied in this experiment,including the time of grinding,the solvent consumption,and times of extraction. The result showed that the optimal extracting was four times the amount of material,three times of extraction for forty minutes etch time.The optimal shaping process of Shennong Zhentong Strapping was studied by orthogonal design with apperance, the amount of ointment and the standing of febricity as indices. Three factors were studied in this experiment,including the amount of abietic,cadmia and agnolin. The result showed that the optimal extracting was abietic 300g, cadmia 400g,and agnolin 40g per 1000 pieces.Curara, extractum belladonnae liquidum,angelica and chuanxiong in Shennong Zhentong Strapping were identified by TLC with clear spots and good reproducibility. Borneo camphor and mentha-camphor in it were identified by GC with non-interference of negative and good reproducibility.HPLC method were established for the determination of strychnine. The cablibration curve was linear in the range of 0.040~1.02 mg·mL-1 of strychnine with correlation coefficient 0.9998; The average recovery of strychnine was 102.3%, RSD=0.9%.GC method were established for the determination of camphor and methyl Salicylate;.The linear ranges were of 0.22~5.43 mg·mL-1(r=0.9999)and 0.10~10.04 mg·mL-1(r=0.9999),respectively.The recoveries were 97.1%,(RSD=1.3%)and 98.6%(RSD=2.2%),respectively.Eventually, the research about stability of Shennong Zhentong Strapping was carryed out with the method of quality control. The result indicates that it is stable on the condition of six months accelerate stability research and twelve months permanent stability research.
