Scrooping is only a gift of silk,it is a kind of euphonious sound which happens when rubbing fibers(or fabrics).With the promotion of people’s living level,consumers call for higher individual and top grade products.Pure cotton fabrics have a series of advantages,such as humidity absorption, breathing freely,comfortable,etc.Lately,consumers want to bring scrooping finish to the jacquard fabrics so as to endue them with scrooping effect as silk and bring higher grade to the products. The mechanism of scrooping and the process were studied and a scrooping agent was prepared. The scrooping sound roots in the rubbing between fibers.After the fabrics are finished by scrooping agent,a special damp hand is generated between fibers,this kind of hand is related to theΔvalue(Δ=μ_s-μ_d),whereμ_s=static friction coefficient,μ_d= dynamic friction coefficient.The bigger the Avalue is,the more evident the scrooping sound is,when theμ_s is smaller,the hand of the fabric will become slippery.According to the principle mentioned above,a polyoxyethylene type scrooping agent was prepared,the influencing factors such as the components and ratio of raw materials,temperature and time etc.have been studied,and the best conditions of preparation were achieved: Firstly,preparation of concentrated dispersoid of organic compound A:raw material weight ratio of organic compound A/W-102/W-101 is 40:7:3,temperature of 70℃,time of 1h.Secondly,preparation of paraffin emulsion with 20%paraffin content:raw material weight percentage of the emulsion is paraffin of 20%,W-301 of 2.88%,OM-100 of 3.12%,water of 74%, temperature of 85℃,stirring speed of 700r/min,time of 40 minutes.Thirdly,preparation of scrooping agent SA-506:raw material weight percentage is, concentrated dispersoid of organic compound A of 56%,paraffin emulsion of 20%,water of 24%, temperature of 60℃,time of 50 minutes.Apply the scrooping agent SA-506 to different cotton fabrics(plain,khaki,jacquard,satin etc.),the influencing factors such as concentration of finishing agent,pH value,drying temperature,and calendering were studied,and the best application process were obtained as follows:agent SA-506 of 10~20g/L,acid of 1g/L,drying temperature of 100℃,calender when the moisture content is 8%~10%.Finally,other properties of the finished fabric such as strength, whiteness,and chromatism which are affected by the scrooping finish process have been studied, results showed that the infection of the agent is small,and they can completely meet the requirements.The finishing agent prepared by this paper has a lot of advantages,such as distinct scrooping effect,moderate viscosity,good solubility,no paraffin separate out of the finishing solution, non-stick roll and affordable price.After the adjustment between laboratory test to the producing process of factory,scrooping agent SA-506 has been recognized by the customers.The finishing agent is applicable for cellulose fabrics,especially for jacquard and satin fabrics.Treated with the finishing agent prepared by this paper,the grade and value-added of those fabrics are raised,and the finishing agent has a good application prospect.
