With the smart grid construction work in advance, the establishing and extending of digital substation which is based on IEC61850standards will be an inevitalbe trend. The study and realization of Optical Transformer and its digital interface in digital substation process layer have important practical significance.This paper reviews the basic principle of Optical Transformer, the commonly used types and its apply character. Based on IEC61850, the paper analyzes the communications features and the function model of its network interface, and researchs two transmission communication standards of samples values defined in IEC61850-9, and have given the contrast analysis of them in the aspects of the way, content and networks forms of information transmission.On this basis, the paper proposes the software and hardware design scheme based on DSP, the data acquisition, packing and function of network-communication are realized by programming. The hardware platform of the system scheme mainly consists of TMS320F2812M and network controllers. The data acquisition, ADC and data processing of the Optical Transformer are realized by TMS320F2812M, and packets reception and capture are realized by CS8900A. In the application of software, WireShark(Ethereal) is used for packet capture, and the Microsoft Visual C++6.0software combined with Winpcap for packet parse. Finally, the paper establishes the experiment system to check the network interface of Optical Transformer. Through the experiment test, the results show that the scheme can be well applied for digital output of Optical Transformer with high accuracy and availability.
