Among the many Air Independent Propulsion(AIP) systems, the closed cycle diesel(CCD) system has a great significant of engine controlling method and the factors affecting the diesel performance, for its advantage of short development cycle, good reliability, mature diesel technology and easy implementation.This paper used the4102BG diesel engine as power unit of CCD. The performance of CCD is studied by the methods of simulation and experiment In addition, the automatic control about the intake composition of CCD is proposed. The works toward it have been carried out as follows:1.First, the simulation model of CCD was established in GT-Power. Its verification by simulation and test data results. Then, the effects of argon concentration, carbon dioxide concentration and specific heat ratio on performance of CCD were analyzed by the simulation model.2.The control procedure and monitoring interface of CCD have been made. The control procedure includes gathering various parameters, calculating specific heat ratio. And, the automatic controlling program about the intake composition is proposed. The system can achieve monitoring status of the system real time.3.In order to realize the goal of this study, some improvements have been made. The system added the instrument of measuring argon concentration, which will measure the intake composition more completely. There are four test points of the intake composition. I got the mass flow rate of intake composition by pitot tubes flowmeter.4.This paper researched the effects of mixture components and specific heat ratio on performance of CCD by experiment. In addition, the experiment researched the reasons of mixture components changed.5.This paper preliminary explore the scheme of the engineering application of CCD. The overall design, arrangement of new scheme, heat exchange system, exhaust system and control system were designed. According to design requirements, some instruments are chosen. This scheme provided a new scheme of the engineering application of CCD.
