The isolation technology is an effective, economic, and available new buildingstructure earthquake resistance technology. The research of base isolation technology isvery much, its application is very extensive and validated in earthquakes. The storyisolation technology is the new development of base isolation and still in research. Thisstudy is a new isolation system which combines the base isolation and layer isolation,called subsection isolation. The segmented isolation technology research is still in theinitial stage.Firstly, this paper expounds the development of isolation technology in the world. Inreference to previous research on base isolation and layer isolation, discuss the calculationmodel of segmented isolation structure, and set up the dynamic balance equation ofpiecewise isolation structure, and expounds several commonly used methods oftime-history analysis.Secondly, this paper uses finite element analysis software SAP2000to simulate areinforced concrete structure, change the interval shock layer position to establish differentsegmentation isolation model, and the nonlinear time-history analysis of several differentmodels, the calculated the seismic response of structure under severe earthquake, andcompared with original structure, discusses isolation effect of the new isolation structure.Then, in this paper a subsection model of isolated structure, change the level shearstiffness and damping ratio of isolation layer, analysis on the influence of damping effectover the segmented isolation structure is addressed.Finally, based on a practical engineering elastic-plastic time-history analysis, putsforward the existing problems, and carries on the segmented isolation, gives the sectionisolation damping scheme. This paper for piecewise isolation structure on the energyanalysis, the results showed that the isolation layer absorbs most of the earthquake energy,blocking up the seismic energy transfer, the upper structure only tiny deformation andrelative motion, and also verify the effectiveness of the proposed segmentation isolationscheme.
