As a kind of important basic components, cylindrical roller bearing is widely used inrotating machinery. Its running state directly affects the whole performance of themechanical system. The bearing can be coated with nanometer thin film to work underthe condition of higher load and speed, in which way the rapid development of industrialtechnology can be met. The research of multi-body static contact, dynamic contact andvibration characteristics of coated roller bearing can provide certain theoretical guidancefor future design of coated bearing. The main content in this thesis can be summarized asfollows:First of all, the multi-body static contact of the coated cylindrical roller bearing isstudied. Based on Hertz elastic contact theory, applying the finite element software,ANSYS, the model is established, the numerical calculation on contact problems isconducted, the influence of different materials and thickness of the coat on contact stress andcontact deformation.Considering the effect of the radial load and rotational speed of bearing, the finiteelement model for dynamic contact problem of cylindrical roller bearing is established bythe software of ANSYS/LS-DYNA. Using explicit dynamic finite element method,dynamic contact analysis of the cylindrical roller bearing and coated cylindrical rollerbearing is conducted under the same load and rotate speed of inner ring, and the dynamicresponse of bearing and the stress distribution of the rolling element during the runningprocess is obtained.Radial vibration of cylindrical roller bearings is analyzed based on contactmechanics and vibration theory. The contact vibration model of cylindrical roller bearingis established,the nature of the radial vibration is analyzed,and then the vibration ofcoated cylindrical roller bearing simulated and the characteristics are studied.Finally, according to the results of the above analysis, taking the properties of thecoated cylindrical roller bearing into account, the best coating material and thickness canbe determined.
