Nowadays brand identification is confined to the graphic design, when the productswith the same brand were put together; it was not easy to find out which brand theproducts were. Brands and products are interdependent unity, a good brand needs a goodproduct to support, also need a good product to be promoted. The image of the brand isdisplayed to the consumer by products; the product is the foundation of the brand image.Consumers determine whether a brand is good or not is based on the products. Explainingconcepts of the brand identification and product appearance design, this paper analyzedthe content supporting the brand identification, made clear the relationship between thebrand and product form design. And this paper mainly discussed the main factors inproduct design——form, color, material were how to form a brand. Finally, a procedureand method for product appearance design was derived based on the elements of the brandfeatures. The main purpose of this study is product appearance design based on brandidentification to enhance consumers brand awareness of the company or enterprise.Researching on existed procedures and methods for product design, combining with thebrand identification, a new procedure and method for product design comes out based onbrand identity.This paper is organized as follows: first collecting and sorting the data of brandidentification’s influence on the product design, then thinking and summing the lack ofbrand identification for product design, and last coming out of the issue of productappearance design based on brand identification. The first chapter introduced thesignificance of brand identification for the company or enterprise, as well as domestic andforeign companies or enterprises are how to do brand identification and product design,and summed up the research project’s breaking point. The second chapter introduced theconcepts of brand and brand identification in brief and pointed out the important influenceof brand identification for the company or enterprise.The third and fourth chapters are the core part of this paper. The third chapter focusedon the relationship between brand identification and product design, and answered why the main factors of product design is confined to brand identification. Based on the thirdchapter, the fourth chapter came out of a new procedure and method for product design,also answered how to design products based on brand identification. The conclusion part,based on the analysis about how brand identification guides product design above,explored the research value by a real case.
