With the boom of motor vehicles, there arises an obvious increase in thenumber of road traffic accidents. Driving fatigue as a leading cause of the trafficaccidents has attracted people’s attention. According to statistical data of theministry of public security in2009, driving fatigue accounts for15.2%of the deathtoll in the traffic accidents. From this point, we can see that driving fatigue hasalready done great harm to people’s life and property security, especially the drivingfatigue of operating bus drivers. Since people relate to operating bus is wider,serious degree of relevant traffic accidents can be relatively higher. According tothe existing related research, the driver fatigue driving will have obvious differencein different driving conditions; therefore, there is important realistic meaning anduse value to carry out operating bus driver’s driving fatigue study under differentdriving environment.In this paper, driving fatigue of the operation bus driver is a phenomenon ofdecline in physical function of drivers caused by the cumulative stack on the basisof the original fatigue. According to the existing condition of experiment and theeffectiveness of the characterization index of driving fatigue, we select six drivingfatigue property index such as depth perception difference, speed consciousnessdifference, choice-reaction time, the ability of attention distribute, operation timesof correct light reactions and operation times of wrong action judgments and one ofdrivers’ eyes property index, namely, PERCLOS (P80).With the cooperation of Passenger Company, we collected data of drivers’fatigue property and open-close characteristics of their eyes. Based on the actualconditions, we designed the experimental and questionnaire scheme, collected andanalyzed relevant data,thus identified the relationship between driving fatigue ofoperation bus drivers and the time they have continuously driven under differentdriving conditions.We analyzed the effects of road environment,sunshine conditions,rainfallconditions on driving fatigue on the basis of experiment test data, defined thedriving fatigue quantity to represent driving fatigue degree through comprehensivetreatment on driving fatigue property data and analyzed influence of differentdriving environments on operating bus driver fatigue respectively. Values ofPERCLOS (P80) can be got from the record data of eyes open and close statecollected in the experiments, so we can analyze the effects of different drivingenvironments on operating bus drivers’ driving fatigue. Combined with the research results of the above, we analyzed the factors ofdriving environment that influence the driving fatigue. And on this basis, weestablished a correction model for driving fatigue, and correspondingcountermeasures were also put forward in view of the effects of different drivingenvironment on operating bus drivers’ driving fatigue.
