| As the power quality problem has become the world focus, DFACTS deviceswhich are used to improve the power quality problems in distribution system arewidely used in power system. Every typical DFACTS equipment were reviewed,including the APF, STATCOM, the DVR, SSTS and so on, their function andadvantages are compared and summarized in this paper, then, some test cases arecarried out in the PSCAD/EMTDC environment to simulated their effects. Finally,the future work of the DFACTS is discussed.We discuss the application of the DFACTS equipment in high voltage distributiongrid and low-voltage smart distribution. The Dagu35kV substation is used as anexample of the high voltage distribution, the combination of the FC and STATCOM isused to solve its power quality problem. Finally we simulated the example in thePSCAD/EMTDC, conclude that the combination of the FC and STATCOM have agood effect on the high voltage distribution.A smart grid is used as an example of the low-voltage smart distribution. Firstly,we build the PV cells, wind turbines, and microturbines models.And combine them asa small smart grid to test the effect of the DFACTS equitment. In this paper, thecombination of the APF and D-STATCOM system is proposed to solve the powerquality problems in the smart grid, the APF is connected nearly the distributedgeneration, to eliminate the problem of the harmonic, D-STATCOM is connected atthe load side, to compensate the reactive power. This paper discusses the effect ofDVR in the smart grid, the DVR is connected to at the load side seriesly. Theshort-time voltage fluctuations in voltage flicker can be perfectly compensated bytheDVR. Finally, we can conclude from the PSCAD simulation that the DFACTS cansolve the power quality problem effectively and efficiencily. |
