Folded plate grid structure are curved models of irregular-shaped space frames,and the mechanical properties of the structures were more and more paid attention to.Based on FEM analysis software ANSYS and Midas, a steel space grid backdropstructure in center square of Changshu Fashion City is analyzed as an example. Thestatic characters, temperature effect, vibration characters and seismic response spectra,wind-induced dynamic response analysis of the bat like and double-layer folded platespace grid structure were studied in the thesis, at the same time the structure roof andsupport steel column for the construction are analyzed.The general situation of project, structure style, calculation model, static loadcases (including dead load, live load and wind load) and combination were introducedin the thesis, then the support reactions, member stresses and nodes displacements ofthe structure based on static analysis by Midas were discussed. The result shows thatthe space action is distinct, structural stiffness is enough, stress distribution is regular,so the structure has good static mechanical performance.The conception of temperature effect, studied the effect of annual averagetemperature on the mechanical performance were described in the thesis. Under theaction of temperature effect, the change of horizontal force and displacement is large,the change of vertical force and member stress is little. Combining temperature effectand dead load and live load, the designs of support reaction, member stress anddisplacement of the struction has met the design requirement.The vibration characters of the latticed shell by the modal analysis wereresearched the paper, so as to analyze the rationality of the structure system anddetermine the interrupt of vibration modes. Then, the paper studied the dynamicresponse of the structure under the action of multi-directional seismic action by meansof response spectrum method, analyzed the distribution of member dynamic-force.The paper combined seismic action and other loads, and then studied the aseismaticperformance of the structure. Under earthquake actions, most members’dynamic-force is much smaller than those static-force, the aseismic design of thestructure has met the design requirement, it has good aseismatic performance.Furthermore, based on wind theoretical analysis, the block coefficient of body conformation of the structure under various wind directions was provided. Procedureof wind velocity was generated and the program was verified to be effective and leadsto satisfied results. Modeling with finite element method, wind-induced dynamicresponse analysis was performed on the bat like and double-layer folded plate spacegrid structure. The wind vibration coefficient of the space grid structure has beencalculated, and the result can be used in static mechanical performance of thestructure.Finally,on the bat like and double-layer folded plate space grid structure and thesupporting steel columns in construction technical problems encountered by theanalysis, some valuable conclusions were obtained.
