Study On The Mode Of Home-based Community Care For The Elderly And Elderly Facility In The Community

The increasingly accelerated aging in China brought a severe test. What kind ofpension model is the most suitable for China? How to make old people a sense ofsecurity? These are the problems to be solved.Firstly, this paper classified pension mode and pension facilities based on theresearch on related data sorting and field investigation. On the one hand, it sums uptwo types of pension model that are “home-based community care for the elderly” and“social institution care for the elderly” based on China’s development and the futuredirection of the construction, and, gives new interpretation to the former. On the otherhand, for the name of pension facilities in China is intricate, it sums up a set ofrelatively clear formulation, and with two types of pension model corresponding.According to domestic and foreign construction experience and lessons, atpresent the most suitable pension model for China should be “home-based communitycare for the elderly”. Not merely because this pension model is consistent with ourpresent policy, but because it meets the wishes of the majority of ordinary Chineseelderly. Although our country has made a lot of exploration and has made someachievement in this field, but there are still a lot of problems and deficiencies. In viewof this, this paper proposes that we should vigorously develop a new type of pensionfacility-“elderly facility in the community”. And this paper points out it should be ascommunity facility in the planning to solve the pension problems of the majority ofordinary Chinese elderly.For “elderly facility in the community”, this paper is studied from twoperspectives of sociology and architecture. At the level of social development,according to our aging trends and relevant national standards, it estimates theconstruction standard and functional room area of “elderly facility in the community”.Also, it puts forward development proposal from multiple aspects of the profit andnon-profit, operation subject, community service system and gives analysis andevaluation to present similar case in China. At the level of architectural design, it putsforward strategy for indoor main function space, outdoor landscape environment anduses similar cases at home and abroad for reference to guide the design of “elderlyfacility in the community”. This paper hopes to provide some reference to architects in related field, pension industry investors, policy-making departments andmanagement departments.For China’s high-income elderly, they have more choices for their pension. Theycan also be learning and be happy with the sense of security. But for low-incomeelderly, a sense of security is not easy for them. So, we should let them have house tolive. It is the concern of this paper that where to live and how to live for theselow-income elderly.
