Urban development is facing a serious ecological crisis, with the acceleratedprocessof urbanization. The theory of landscape planning and design has come intothe age of ecological. It has become an important issue that how to meet the urbanlandscape planning and design demand in the new era, and use the concept ofsustainable development and ecological knowledge to realize the harmony betweenman and nature in modern landscape design. The research of urban carbon-sink and carbon-source is very important to reducethe green house-gas emissions, especially Carbon dioxide. The amounts of urbancarbon sink and carbon source vary greatly because of the human activities.Introducing the concept of forest carbon-sink to the Modern city landscapeplanning, that developing of carbon sinks landscape, creating a low carbon livingenvironment and researching of Carbon sinks for Urban Landscape, is significant forimproving the urban ecologicale nvironment and alleviating urban heat island effect。The main content of the thesis includes the following aspects:1. Introducing the concept of urban landscape, Ecological design and CityEcologybriefly including the construction, feature, methodand principle of them.2. Introduced the research results about carbon sink detailed. It’s very important todevelop carbon sink, reduce urban regional Tropical island effect, and improve theenvironment by introducing carbon-sink concept.3. Introduced the Carbon sink influence of landscape design and urban ecologicaldesign, which can offer reference for improving environment and developing carbonsink.4. Give two different examples of carbon-sink design to show the way andprinciple of it. In the two examples, the carbon-sink concept is added to the greenspace, water, ground and topology to show the advantage of the carbon-sink design.
