Public building energy consumption takes as much as more than one-third of thetotal building energy consumption in China. Office building is the most common andwidely distributed public building. Based on the analysis of office building energyconsumption in different climates, the relationships between building envelopeenergy-saving technologies and the energy consumption of office buildings should beevaluated. This paper aims at evaluating the energy saving rates and the technologicaladaptabilities of the various building envelope energy-saving technologies in differentclimates. On this basis, the optimized integration of various technologies can beachieved and the simple display of different energy saving technologies can beavoided. The research in this paper comes from “Integrated Research andDemonstration of Energy-efficient Building Technologies”, which belongs to thebuilding energy efficiency cooperation project of US-China Clean Energy ResearchCenter.By the use of TRNSYS energy simulation software, the energy consumption ofoffice buildings in the five climates of China was simulated firstly and theenergy-saving effects of different building envelope energy-saving technologies werealso analyzed quantitatively. As a result, the energy-saving rates of the variousbuilding envelope energy-saving technologies in different climates were evaluated.On this basis, the optimum sets of building envelope energy-saving technologies inthe five climates were proposed respectively. The suitable building envelopeenergy-saving technologies for hot summer and warm winter region should beshading glass and shading measures. The suitable building envelope energy-savingtechnologies for hot summer and cold winter region should be building envelopeinsulation, shading glass and shading measures. The suitable building envelopeenergy-saving technologies for cold region should be building envelope insulation,Low-e glass and shading measures. The suitable building envelope energy-savingtechnologies for severe cold region should be building envelope insulation and Low-eglass.The energy consumption of heating and air-conditioning system in officebuildings has relationships with exterior wall heat transfer coefficient, roof heat transfer coefficient, window frame heat transfer coefficient,glass heat transfercoefficient, solar heat gain coefficient, solar radiation reflectivity, internal shadingfactor and external shading factor. By the multiple linear regression analysis ofTRNSYS energy consumption simulation results, the energy consumption predictionmodels of heating and air-conditioning system were established in the differentbuilding models of the five climates. Through the verification of energy simulationand actual research cases, the feasibility and accuracy of the proposed regressionmathematical models were proved finally.
