Since the beginning of the21stcentury, the seismic activity of China hasentered a frequent period. The buildings of city have been reinforced in the aspectof seismic, destroy of the earthquake directly affected the Chinese new ruralconstruction. The earthquakes, such as Wenchuan, Yushu and so on, which caused agreat loss to our country, not only the intensity of earthquakes is higher than thebasic intensity of the region, but also most of the houses are basically no set for theseismic measures which led to the destruction of the earthquake unprecedented.The main analysis of the content and conclusions of this paper are as follows:(1) Firstly, this article introduces the status quo of the masonry buildings in ourtowns and villages briefly, and analyzes the typical damage characteristics of ruralbuildings and the reasons of the earthquake damage of the masonry buildings,taking the earthquake of Wenchuan.(2) We check the structure carrying capacity byusing finite element analysis, and from the analysis we determine the weak aspectsof the building and evaluate its seismic performance. While putting up time historyanalysis powered by importing different types of seismic waves to the model, weget the shear stress of various parts of the building under the action of theearthquake. By the contrast of various figures, we make further sure the destroyedposition of this type building of the towns and villages under the action of theearthquake, while the results and methods can be used as the basis for analyzing theseismic performance of the entity masonry building.(3) While simulating andanalyzing the weak aspects (such as Cantilevered parts, the settings of the ring beamand door and window lintels, the sizes of doors and windows, the height, and thesettings of the ring beam of foundation), which affect the seismic performance ofmasonry building, we conclude the impact of various factors on the seismicperformance of this building. The results show that, setting the appropriatestructural measures can improve the seismic performance of masonry buildinguncoordinatedly. From the changes of the shear stress figures, the setting of removing the cantilevered part and the separation of the ring beam and the lintelsare the most effective measures.The researches this article did not only provide a certain theoretical guidanceto the seismic performance of entity masonry building in towns and villages, butalso make recommendations for the structural design of rural residential of the newrural construction, through the measures we would improve the seismicperformance of rural buildings effectively and economically.
