The power supply capability is a new indicator in the distribution field, a seriesof theoretical progress solved problems of the definition, model and calculation of thetotal supply capability (TSC) in recent years. On this foundation, this article studieson the nature and influence factors of the TSC, main work is as follows:1. Research on the nature of the TSC model in distribution networks.Firstly, the TSC model is derived as the general form of a linear programmingmodel, and its mathematical meaning is elaborated. The TSC model of two maintransformers system is analysis with the graphical method, and the relationshipbetween solutions and parameters is derived. Then, mathematical expressions of theparameter conditions when the TSC model has no solution or a unique solution arederived, and it is concluded that the TSC model of actual distribution networks alwayshas infinitely many solutions.Secondly, from the view of load balancing, the load balancing solution of theTSC is studied. The Equilibrium Degree of Load Rate (EDLR) is defined. The loadbalancing model of TSC is built, using the EDLR as the objective function, and thecalculation result of the original model as a constraint. Then, after study on testsystems, matching conditions of the link in distribution network and main transformercapacity are summarized to make a more balanced load.2. Various of influence factors for TSC are preliminary analysis, and influence bylinks is focused on.Firstly, this paper defines the sensitivity indicator of the influence factors of theTSC, quantifying their influence in quantified field. Change interval of each influencefactor’s sensitivity and the relationship map of some influence factors and the averageload rate of main transformers T are given. Sensitivity indicators of influencingfactors are calculated in test systems, to verify the above conclusion.Secondly, this article focuses on the influence of distribution network links haveon the TSC. The effectiveness degree and evaluation methods of distribution networklinks are put forward, as well as the distribution network simplification method basedon links effective degree. The method can calculate and evaluate the contribution thatlinks make to the TSC, and effectively simplify the complex distribution networks with a lot of tie-lines under the premise of the N-1security. Some laws ofeffectiveness of distribution network links are revealed, and a new basis for thedistribution network scheduler running and planning is provided.
