Complexity is a key feature of our living world, and it has been a long history ofstudying the complex system. As the appearance of computer, the researchmethodology of complex system has made an important breakthrough, of which themicroscopic simulation technology emerged at the right moment. Meanwhile, thecomplicacy of surroundings and human activities is being studied deeply, thecomplexity of Space of the Blocks is being recognized gradually. With thisunderstanding, there is a need of a pertinence method to the complexity of Space ofthe Blocks, which provides conditions for the combination of the microscopicsimulation technology and Space of the Blocks study.Whether artificial means of the description and2D drawing or digital means ofphysical models and conceptual models, the study of Space of the Blocks based on thetraditional method can not get rid of the top-down frame of the classical reductionanalysis, which is restricted to the stripped-down rigid description and ignore theintegrity and systematicness of the Space of the Blocks. In view of the situation, themicroscopic simulation technology makes up for the deficiency well. it is a researchmethodology of complex system based on the computer technology, which is adown-top study method focusing on the way of simple local behavior bring fowardscomplicated global situation. The situation and tendency of the applying themicroscopic simulation technology in research of the Space of the Blocks isinvestigated, in which two step technologies (CA and MAS) of the microscopicsimulation are selected to discuss and classify the application of the technology byusing domestic and international relevant research case. On this basis, this papercarried out the neighborhoods space exploration and innovation, and from the point ofview of the model and reality, technology and control relationship, discourse analysisof microscopic simulation technology in the field of architecture.
