In the process of time-history analysis on structure, ground motions input is not only theprimitive but also a crucial factor in influencing the structure reactive. But the civil engineersin the present time all chose to use classical waves such as ELcentro、Taft and Lanzhou wavesno matter in which kind of building construction or sites. This leads to the diverse ofcalculation results and sometimes the difference can be several times or even dozens of times.So far, Chinese scholars have done a great amount of researches about the ground motioninput; The specification also has some systematic methods and guidances, restrictions andrequirements towards elasticity time-history analysis. The select of stong ground motion bytwo frequency has gained recognition in academic circles, but only in the elastic stage and hasnot been verified in the elastic stage.This dissertation based on the select the strong ground motions by two frequency, fitting51steams of groung motions for the design response spectrum, and selecting6better steamsof groud motions. I applied ETABS softwear to input6groud motions for the elasticitytime-history analysis of the building structure and to do a comparative analysis of elasticitytime-history analysis calculation results of response spectrum analysis. The distinction onboth of the calculation methods come to the result that bottom shears、story shears andstructural inter story drifts are not more35%and the mean value is not more than10%. Theground motions selected by two frequency is more rational in verifying the elasticitytime-history analysis. Furthermore, the more fitting the design response spectrum, the smalldistinction of the calculation results that obtains by response spectrum analysis.Thecalculation results of the building structure differs not very much and all in accordance withthe restrictions in The specification. When I applied the SAP2000software into buildingstructure to the elastic-plastic analysis, great distinction happened in the results especially thecalculation results of the yield frame member. It conclude that the reasons for this phenomenon through compeer the fourier amplitude specture of6ground motions.Thus I putforward when the structure elasto-plastic time-history analysis,based on the select the groundmotions by two frequency.We should consider the distinction in the fourier amplitude spectureof6ground motions.
