Kunming-Shanghai high-speed railway under construction via Guizhou Province, the complex geological conditions, mountains, karst, brought great difficulty to the construction of the Shanghai-Kunming high-speed railway. Thus, tunnel project is particularly important, proven geological conditions ahead of the face in the construction process become one of the controlling factors of the tunnel construction safety. Advanced geological prediction work in the tunnel, has become one of the important process of tunnel construction that is increasedly attended.This paper select two typical long tunnel from the Shanghai-Kunming Railway in Guizhou province, elaborate the engineering geological conditions of tunnel site, collect the data of previous studies, based on the analysis of technical methods in domestic and international, using the modern geophysical means to predict the tunnel geological disasters advanced, and to sum up experience in the practical work of the tunnel prediction. This paper mainly focuses on the following aspects:1. Systematic introduction to the commonly used advanced geological prediction methods, and explains its basic working principle and using conditions;2. Detailed introduce the engineering geological conditions of the two tunnels, and evaluate the engineering geological conditions of the tunnel import, export and hole body;3. Elaborate the working principle and method of operation of the seismic wave forecasting techniques, combined with the practical application in the tunnel construction, comparative analysis of the detection results and the actual excavation, come to the scope of this method, and summarizes the advantages and disadvantages and problems that need attention in the application process;4. Elaborate the working principle and application of ground-penetrating radar technology, analyze the radar imaging characteristics,determinant and interpretation, combined with the probe results, compared to the actual excavation, obtained the scope of this method, summarizes the advantages and disadvantages and the proposal to improve the accuracy;5. Detail the working principle and the operation method of the infrared acquisition technology, combined with the practical application, compared to the actual excavation conditions, in-depth analysis, come to the scope of this method, and summarizes the advantages and disadvantages;With the complex geological conditions of Kunming-Shanghai high-speed railway in in Guizhou province, there are many adverse geological phenomena (such as, karst cave, fault fracture zone, etc) along with the railway, prone to sudden geological disasters, e.g. gushing water and projecting mud soil. Therefore, the tunnel geological prediction work needs a higher requirement. The method of TSP and ground penetrating radar and infrared acquisition, achieve an ideal forecast result that provides guidance for advanced geological prediction afterwards.
