As the key components of high-speed EMU train, wheel’s quality has direct impact on the multiple unit train’s traffic safety. In the process of high-speed EMU train operation, the residues in the wheel manufacturing process will lead to deep crack in the site of rim and disk, circumferential and radial crack in the stress concentration band of plate hole and nearly hub site. The wheel accident at home and abroad warning us:if we don’t detect and deal with wheel fault accident timely, it would form a hidden danger of accident, directly endanger the multiple unit train’s traffic safety, and even lead to the train derailment, subversion, and other major accident.Based on the experience of German DB high-speed EMU train wheel flaw detection, China has formed wheel defect detection technology system of high-speed EMU train. Ministry of Railways issued corresponding wheel testing procedure, which was applied to the whole wheel detection work of high-speed EMU train at present. However, there is still bottleneck in the technology and management philosophy of high-speed EMU train wheel detection work. Through investigation and study our country high-speed EMU train wheel flaw detection management work situation, the paper analyzes problems, puts forward traceability in the process of testing work and the defect closed-loop management solutions, applies wheel testing technique system to practice, which is the guarantee of high-speed EMU train wheel’s safety.The paper has four parts:Firstly, this paper briefly describes the background of the high-speed EMU train wheel flaw detection system in China, research content, method, and significance.Secondly, the paper detailed analyses high-speed EMU train wheel defeci characteristics development rule, and wheel defect cases at home and abroad, analyses the wheel defects detection content, emphasize the necessity of wheel defect management of construction work.Thirdly, the paper analyses main problems in the high-speed EMU train wheel defect detection management field, which is based on the literature study and site inspection. Firstly, there is contradiction that high-speed EMU train wheel defect detection device can’t meet the wheel defect detection demand at present. Secondly, manual management is basic way in the wheel defects detection data management means, in other words, information level is low. There are holes of traceability management. Thirdly, there are no effective measures to integrate link quality information and analyses correlation in every high-speed EMU train wheel life cycle quality control links, in other words, there is lack of closed-loop management concept and a set of effective measures.At the end, the paper puts forward the solutions and the con-esponding technical plans for the problems of high-speed multiple unit train wheel flaw detection management, which provides new ideas for our China high-speed EMU train construction.
