Railway is the pillar industry of national economic and production. Shunting operation, as the basic content of railway traffic, it’s the important part to guarantee train formation plan realized, accelerating train vehicle flow, improving the transport capacity, completing the production task. However, due to the quantity and wide distribution of the shunting signal, the less technology and equipments input, the complexity department involved, making the high accident rate of the shunting system, especially the signal display failure. Then the double filaments shunting signal came out. Once one filament breakdown the other could replace it to make sure the regular work of the shunting signal. While this system can’t tell you the exactly location of the broken filament makes the maintenance more difficulty, also the fault message only transmission by the private line costs more money.Based on the fully investigation on the existing shunting signal conversion alarm system, the author raised the system which has double filaments (the main one and the deputy one), shows the accurate address of the broken filament, also it doesn’t need to use the private line for fault message transmission. This system is includes central controller, acquisition machine, filament converter, power supply. This system could distinguish the broken one from the normal one without add alarm cable, also it could monitoring multiple signals by single acquisition machine. This system has simple structure, easy to maintenance, high safety and reliability, less use of cable, which saving cost greatly. So this system has more practicability than others.The content of thia paper can be divided into the following parts:Part one: introduce the design concept of our shunting signal filament conversion alarm system which based on the investigation and survey of analyses the present railway signal control system of domestic and overseas.Part two:introduce the hardware circuit design of each module in the system and the protection design from lightning and electric, reliability design.Part three: introduce the software circuit design of each module in the system and reliability design of software.Part four: system debugging and results analysis of the system.
