All of the engine components, the block constitutes the skeleton of the engine, it supports and fixes all the moving parts of the engine ensuring that they will keep the relatively accurate position when at work, the reliability of the block has an important influence on the whole engine performance. With the development of computer technology, Finite Element Analysis of the engine block has become an important means of the aided design. The finite element method is a generic numerical analysis method, it is also the most reliable and effective means of the static and dynamic performance study of complex structures. Modal analysis theory and finite element technology were applied in this article, free modal analysis and under the working condition of each cylinder’s maximum explosion pressure, the4C6-65M22diesel engine block’s stress distribution and deformation condition were studied. With the use of UG, the reasonable simplification was carried out of the three-dimensional solid model of the block, in Hypermesh tetrahedral elements were used to establish the finite element model of the block, the first ten order natural frequency and modal vibration mode of the block were obtained under the free modal condition. Through modal analysis, the weak parts of the block vibration were found, a theoretical reference was provided in order to optimize the block’s structure design. The main loads of the engine block under the working condition were calculated and applied, in Hypermesh the stress distribution and displacement deformation of the main bearing cover and the main bearing structure were examined, according to the calculation results, strength analysis and partial improvement were carried out, the improved calculation results show that the strength of the main bearing was reinforced, the effect was good, basically meets the strength requirement.Combined with the geometric model of the diesel engine cooling fan, according to the requirements of the test, with the use of CFD tetrahedron mesh ability in Hypermesh, the flow field simulation and sound field simulation analysis model of the engine cooling fan were established, and the Fluent was used to solve the calculation, the simulation results coincide well with the experiment results,the reliability of the established simulation model was verified. Start from the geometric parameters of the fan itself, five influencing factors which are wheel hub ratio, the blade installation angle, the unequal pitch arrangement of the blade, the blade profile and the number of blades were analyzed and calculated, the rule of their effect on the fan performance were got, combined with the result of analysis and research, two improved models were proposed, through the calculation and analysis, the improved models not only increased the flow of the fan but also reduced the noise value, the effect was good.
