Scroll compressor is known as the third generation of the compressor. They have been widely used in air-conditioner, refrigerator, gas compressor, pressure booster, vacuum pump and hydraulic pump due to the advantages of more compact structure, higher efficiency, lower noise level and higher reliability. The traditional design method of compressor is experience, the semi-empirical method, time-consuming, and labor, and low efficiency. And the final plan is not the overall best solution. The past mechanical structure optimization design is generally focused on one component, or only consider the impact of a performance or disciplinary. This causes the results of structure optimization design unsatisfactory, even contradictory. This makes the structure optimization design inevitably move toward the systematic and overall optimization design.Multidisciplinary design optimization(MDO) method is a kind of design method taking full advantage of the synergistic effect produced by the interaction between the various disciplines. And Collaborative Optimization(CO) developed rapidly in recent years.This paper introduces the working principle of scroll compressor and geometry theory of circle involute profile and summarizes the main body of scroll compressor impacting structural parameters.Then analyze the relationship between main structure parameters of scroll compressor. This paper also discusses the design concept and mathematical model of collaborative optimization. Then expound Collaborative Optimization modeling, analysis of the modeling process and modeling techniques.In this paper, the structural parameters of scroll compressor were optimized by using the method of collaborative optimization establishing the mathematical model of multidisciplinary design optimization. And then, mathematical model was integrated into iSIGHT software by using intelligent optimization. This can shorten the design cycle, reduce development costs and improve the competitiveness of product. An example for scroll compressor based MDO was given. A set of size structure of satisfying multiply performance excellent request, improving the efficiency of complete appliance and ameliorating working conditions were gained. The numerical results indicate that the collaborative optimization can be successfully applied to dealing with the optional of scroll compressor, and lay a foundation to solve more complex mechanical system. In order to analyze the vibration characteristic of the moving scroll using the finite element analytic software ANSYS, the modality in vibration was simulated, and the top six natural frequenc ies and the corresponding modal shapes were gained.
