The paper chose controlled nuclear fusion experimental reactor ITER (international Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor) project as the research background, mainly to its external vacuum cryostat structure stability analysis, testing the stability of its structure to ensure that the entire ITER security of the operating environment.ITER is a tokamak program in order to verify the fusion controlled feasibility, which is an international cooperation project, passing strict quality determination before its operational conduct. The stability of the device directly affect the lives and safety of the peoples of the world, but also affect the world of the living environment, and therefore its stability analysis is very important and necessary.Domestic and foreign experts in static analysis, and conclusions, but the kinetic analysis is still in the exploration and study. The main application of CATIA software is to draw three-dimensional solid model of cryostat, and then import it to the finite element analysis software to impose load to simulate the actual process by stabilization by the ABAQUS software cryostat analysis and then export the buckling loads and buckling modes of cryostat, and so to determine the stability of its run-time. Stability analysis of the main package scratch includes buckling analysis (Bucking analysis) and nonlinear buckling analysis.Buckling analysis is a theoretical solution, from a purely theoretical point of view, to measure the stability of an ideal structure to determine its bearing capacity and the corresponding buckling modes. But its analysis of the calculation process is relatively simple and required less computing time, more provinces, Buckling analysis of the results obtained are very conservative, and unsafe, so can not be directly applied to practical engineering time and effort.In reality, we must take into account the structure of the initial geometric imperfections, Elastoplastic and practical factors such as, you need to use nonlinear finite element theory of nonlinear stability analysis. As the analysis taking into account the initial geometric imperfections, material nonlinearity, material elastic-plastic and other factors, so their results with the actual situation a good match, commonly used in practical engineering analysis. The mainly contents of this paper is as follows:(1) usage in the analysis based on the the cryostat stability analysis and introduction to the theory of stability analysis.(2) the establishment of an external vacuum cryostat finite element model to study the stability of the weight of the load.(3) establishment of an external vacuum cryostat finite element model to study its stability under seismic horizontal force load.
