Direct power control (DPC) is through the instantaneous active power andreactive power of hysteresis control, to achieve the better control effect. DPC hassome following advantages: high dynamic performance, structure and algorithm issimple and easy to implement, etc, particularly suitable for active power filters andpower converters which the electric power dynamic performance requirements of highapplications.The Conventional Matrix Converter a direct power converter which has manycharacteristics, such as: bi-directional power flow, adjustable input power factor,sinusoidal input/output current,no DC-link, etc, which has caused widespreadconcern. Two-stage Matrix Converter is a kind of matrix converter with new topologywhich develops in recent years, it not only has the excellent characteristics of MC, butalso overcome the existence of shortcomings of MC which the large clamp circuit andthe commutation control complex, has become a hot research field of powerconverters and there is great potential for development. This direct power controlstrategy based on TSMC is studied in this paper.In order to reduce the problem of TSMC, which input power factor easilyinfluenced by the system parameters, loads conditions and so on. The direct powercontrol strategy based on TSMC is proposed and studied. First of all, analyzed anddiscussed the circuit structure and control theory of TSMC, proposed two controlstrategies for TSMC: switching table method and space vector method, anddemonstrated the feasibility of space vector modulation to achieve unity power factor.Second, this two control strategies were comprehensive exposition from the systemstructure and control theory, and established the simulation model with direct powercontrol system based on TSMC. The space vector modulation to avoid the impact ofthe switching frequency instability in the look-up table method, reached on goodcontrol to the active and reactive power. The simulation results indicate that TSMCnot only owns the good input and output performance, realizes unit input power factor,but also the system has a good dynamic and static performance. The correctness ofdirect power control strategy is verified by simulation.
