Animation derivative products industry is part of the creative industries. This article is direct at the main issue of present animation derivative products on the market of China, which are lack of creativity and too focus on low age child.The article analyses the emotional needs of the consumers who purchase the adult animation of adults over the age of18and the special characteristics of the Animation derivative products. Base on the cartoon image to seed the extensive connections and relatively independent between the animation design and product design. The article is mainly composed of the following sections.The first section is the analysis of the current situation of cartoon derivative products market. Find that only market segments can be able to get rid of the lowering age problem and the lack of creative of our Animation derivative products.The second section analyses what the China’s adults need for the animation derivative products, such as features, performance, differences in performance and so on. Particularly the development trend of China’s animation derivative products adult consumer demand.The third section sorts the design elements of the animation derivative products by the features based on the emotional needs analysis. The elements what are analyzed are the animation image interpretation and reproduction, animation image recognition system design, product modeling function, distribution system, advertising system design and so on.The forth section proposed three methods of design by divided the emotional design to three different levels (visceral level, the level of behavior, reflecting level) based on the emotional needs analysis and design element analysis. The visceral level uses the design method which controlled by emotional perception, the behavioral level uses the design methods which controlled by emotional-oriented, the reflecting level uses the design methods which controlled by emotional reflection-oriented. The method of emotional perception is using the modeling design, color design, texture design and so on to arouse the emotional of consumers. The method of emotional-oriented is concerning the functions, ease of use, comfort and also includes the pleasure while being used. The method of emotional reflection-oriented is to use the product to evoke the deeper memory and consciousness of consumers.The fifth section is using two projects which are done by the writer to verify the previous analysis. By analyze the feedback of practice, to deepening the contents of the article.The design of animation derivative products involves varieties of subjects such as sociology, psychology, animation design, and product design and so on; the research of animation products industry in this article should be played a positive role.
