With the continuous progress of information technology, communications technology, automatic control technology, the Internet of Things and Smart Grid continue integrating and mutually penetrating. To further accelerate the realization of interactive features about the smart grid, enhance the types of data acquisition network and communication access network of power system operations, improve the robustness and reliability of network, it is necessary to conduct a study over interconnection between heterogeneous networks. Gearing to the application of power systems, the paper do research and design on electric WSN dual-mode terminal used to connect the wireless sensor network and broadband wireless communication network, and accomplish the communication of data between the WSN and TD-SCDMA or McWiLL network by means of dual-mode access terminal WSN to meet the requirements about interoperability between heterogeneous networks on power systems business.WSN is a kind of wireless communication technology oriented to information exchange between devices, meanwhile the functional expansion and upgrading in the direction of industrial applications for existing wireless communications technology. TD-SCDMA system can meet the requirements of the power system business in spectrum efficiency, frequency flexibility, and business support, McWiLL based on the new local private network, can provide a variety of industry private network applications to meet the needs of different levels for industrial customers, especially suitable for the establishment of the electric broadband wireless private network.Firstly the data acquisition and communication network is researched in the paper, the typical application of WSN and wireless broadband communications access networks in data acquisition business of power system is pointed out. Based on the full summary of the functional requirements of the data communication between WSN and McWiLL/TD-SCDMA, the hardware design scheme of elertric WSN dual-mode access terminal is proposed, the software function modules is summed up and being preliminary designed, finally the function and performance of the terminal is tested in the meter reading network. Test results can meet the basic design requirements of the terminal, indicating that the terminal be able to achieve the data communication between the WSN with McWiLL/TD-SCDMA network, of great research significance and engineering practice value in the field of data acquisition and communication oriented power systems business.
