Intelligent home system, characterized as home automation, networking and information,has become one of the research hotspots in the Internet of thing (IOT) application domain. Inan intelligent home system, to release the interconnection problem between muitiple differentkinds of communication technologies, the residential gateway which is the core networkingequipment was researched to give a kind of extensible scalable and versatile multi-protocolconversion design method of residential gateway in this paper. The main work is as follows:(1)In the aspect of residential gateway hardware design, firstly, different networkingmethods were analyzed and the domestic network of an extensible network model was putforward based on the hierarchical gateway. For the design problems of residential gatewayhardware platform, the master-slaver architecture gateway design model was put forward bythe analysis of the existing gateway designs. The gateway hardware platform design wasgiven based on the DM3730microprocessor. The embedded linux operating system migrationmethod was studied and the transplant process was implemented in simulation hardwareplatform in this paper.(2)In terms of residential gateway software design, for heterogeneous networkcommunication protocol conversion problem, the design method of home gateway andrealization technology was presented, which is multi-protocol and configurable. On the basisof task description language ClassAD, a method of multi-protocol conversion was proposedfor multi-protocol conversion, which improves the multi-protocol conversion performanceand reduces the conversion complexity. And the method can achieve to improve thescalability of system by adopting the plug-in extension mechanism. For heterogeneousdevices access to communication and interoperability problems in an intelligent home system,this paper has given an access methods based on middleware interface mechanism anddesigned the home equipment control model and control protocol.It reduces the complexity ofmanaging heterogeneous devices on the home equipment control and improves the efficiencyof heterogeneous equipment access control. For home gateway software design problems, byanalyzing and researching IOT M2M application system architecture and software design ofgateway, this paper has implemented the home gateway software system compatible withWMMP protocol. The sensory data parsing and protocol conversion process method weregiven. The platform simulation results verify the validity of the method. And through theexperimental results comparison, this method is better than other methods of gateway design.(3)For the data communication problems between different platforms about equipmentremote management, an intelligent home management application system based on proposedhome gateway was built by using the hierarchical structure and modular design method, the detailed design of different part of platform were given. A management application platformof intelligent home system based on C/S application service architecture was completed bythe introduction of the Web service communications technology. This scheme can guaranteethe data communication between different platforms, and can lighten the burden gatewayserver, and effectively reduce the performance requirements of home gateway hardware.
